Wine and Cheese 2008

July 13, 2008 – 5:52 pm

In grand style, the Tau Chapter ended the 2007-2008 school year with it’s classiest event, Wine and Cheese, to celebrate the end of the year and to initiate the new members of Upsilon Alpha. Of the five pledges who walked up the stairs in January, 3 new members were initiated into the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity, raising the active size of the house to 58.

The house sadly says goodbye to 5 seniors of the 2008 class, a class that saw a period of great success for the house, including a Booth win and three trophies, 4th and 5th places in Buggy, and 3 1st place finishes in Greek Sing.

See you next year, with Fall Rush 2008!

Carnival 2008

April 11, 2008 – 5:08 pm

Another Carnival, another set of great performances by the Tau chapter. In addition to playing host to a slew of alumni young and old, including chapter founder and house legend Ron Comstock, the chapter yet again showed its strength both in Booth and on the Buggy course.

KDRailroads takes the silver. »

The chapter took home 2nd place in the fraternity Booth competition with KDRailoads, their 6th top-3 finish in seven years. The booth was masterminded by outgoing Senior Biology major Patrick Hagarman, who oversaw the house’s first try at a 3-sided structure. The inside portrayed a train station from the west (the Golden Spike is in Utah) complete with ticket booth, small model railroad, arrivals/departure sign, and an interactive history section. The game was a train simulator in the cab of the engine, as well as carnival-type drive the Golden Spike to test your strength game outside.

Not to be outdone, the Buggy team led by Senior Anthony Bruno finished in 5th place for both Womens A and Mens A, as well as winning the t-shirt design contest for the Free Ronell campaign. While the Womens A team co-sponsored with DG performed to expectation, Mens A exceeded most predictions with a 2:13.25 time in the finals, putting them #3 on the KDR All-Time list, behind the prelim and final times for the record-setting 2005 Mens A team.

In trophying in Greek Sing, Booth, and Buggy, the Tau Chapter is the only fraternity on campus to successfully complete the Spring Triple Crown. The last fraternity to achieve this feat was also us, in 2005 when we won seven trophies in the Spring semester, with wins in Green Sing and Booth alongside a 4th place Buggy.

Welcome to our new homepage!

August 2, 2007 – 8:25 pm

After trying a lot of different options and getting tired of dealing with Computing Services on updating our space on Andrew, we decided to just build a half-blog/half-site mix and get back to playing some pong. Enjoy the website, bookmark it, and check back when school starts.
